5 real dangers of overeating

Christmas is coming up, and I want to ask you a question: Do you know why we’re still hungry after eating all that food from Christmas dinner? Is it true that eating a lot of food “expands” the stomach, meaning you have more room to eat the next day?

The answer is that for most people, you don’t feel hungry despite the massive amounts of food you eat. You feel hungry because of how much you ate. And Christmas isn’t the only time for this to happen.

Although most people don’t know it, compulsive eating is the most common eating disorder in adults. Did you know this?

The common belief is that we feel sleepy after overeating, but the truth is that after eating large amounts of food, you can feel restless and restless.

Overeating can set off your biological clock, which is responsible for helping the body release hormones that induce sleep. In addition, if the foods eaten are rich in carbohydrates (such as pasta or cake), even if you go to bed at the right time, you will likely wake up hungry when your sugar levels drop.

When you eat, you swallow some air with your food. The more air you eat, the more air you swallow. Air swallowing can increase if you drink sparkling water or soda during your meal. Moreover, the body produces gases during the digestion process. So, until all that air finds a way out, you might feel uncomfortable.

To avoid this, or at least to reduce the amount of air entering your stomach, make sure you eat slowly and chew your food well. And avoid drinking while eating.

But, if you suddenly feel bloated, a brisk walk can help release all the gas in your stomach.

Your heart rate will increase

If you eat more than you used to, your metabolism will go crazy. Your heart rate increases and you start to sweat a lot, as if you were in a sauna.

Unfortunately, there isn’t anything you can do to interrupt this overload in your metabolism. Once it’s over, everything will be back to normal. But you can try taking a cold shower to feel a little better.

Your stomach is changing

The foods you eat should give you energy, and any excess should leave your body. This process is known as digestion. Therefore, when you overeat, the body has to work more. It can cause frequent bowel movements and may lead to diarrhea. Did you know this?

Furthermore, the way you eat has consequences. Eating slowly and chewing well is key to avoiding this situation, although refraining from overeating is still the best solution.

The most obvious change is the increase in the size of your belly. You may think your pants have shrunk, but it’s actually your stomach that’s gotten bigger! Once the food is digested, your stomach will return to its original size.

The easiest way to avoid this is to eat slowly. Not only does it allow you to enjoy the food, but it also gives your brain enough time to notice when it’s satisfied—a signal for you to stop eating.

Start being more mindful of your meals. eat at the table with your family and turn off any electronic devices that can steal your attention; Focus on being in the moment and observing your plate and your body.
